Hi folks,
Looking for a solution for simulating a monitor screen set up in an ICU environment, without actually having SimMan there. We're using an ALS manikin pretty much as a prop, and hoping to have monitoring that can be mobile in-situ (taking manikin from ICU, transferring in ambulance…)
This seems like it should be easy to achieve, but the answer hasn't come to me yet. The answer would end up looking something like the ALSi from iSimulate - I'm up for any suggestions...
Solutions tried so far (and problems in brackets): - Using 'Virtual monitor' in Laerdal software (still requires the router contained within SimMan) - Creating our own wireless network to bounce the Instructor application and Patient Monitor off (troublesome configuring laptops/SimPad to a different network, still has the problem of the not being particularly mobile) - Using an extended desktop type set up with an older version of SimMan software (can do this with a laptop and monitor ok, but need the system to be mobile - two laptops can't talk to one another in this way)
Any help or suggestions would be great.
Cheers Ian

We have worked out a solution (fairly straightforward in the end) which we think is going to work ok.
Using a LinkBox from a Laerdal ALS manikin and connecting it directly to a 'Patient monitor' laptop via a LAN cable seems to be working well for it.
We can drive the monitor with the SimPad, and it will show HR, SpO2, CO2, BP quite nicely, which should suit us ok.

that didn't take you long, let us know if it definitely does work out.
i think i misunderstood your question, i thought you wanted a mobile monitor and found this online which shows how to use/set-up an ipad as a second monitor/extended desktop. This is how simman classics vitals are sent/displayed from instructor laptop onto monitor
heres a link if someone/anyone else wants to try
the other option we have is using two ipads with simmon, yes simmon as in sim mon(itor)installed which creates something very similar to the iSimulate ALSi product you mentioned
