just following on from SimTechDay, we found some "trainer glue" lying around!! added some food dye and modelled as shown by Sarah's Scars, looks not too bad and now 2 months on no mould, definitely re-useable, just needs a bit of pva similar to attach and a bit of make-up to blend

We need a picture Scott. I've been using wax for a few things - luckily we train physios here so I can pinch so wax from their wax bath when I need it. Combining this with the " schkin" recipe available online, it is really cheap and effective. The wax is good as it hardens on the mannequin without using glue. It ends up pretty robust too, so can be used a few times. The pics attached were of bunion surgery - the bone on show is wax, (we also have podiatrists here) and a callous/hard skin build up on the heel - a mixture of smash potato and OVA glue sealed with wax.

Hi David.
I'm just building ours up as I go from things around the house and that I can get really cheap. My budget is currently £0!
Anyway, I have cornflour, petroleum jelly, red blue and yellow food colourings, wax, PVA glue, some poundshop type fake blood, red jelly, some old makeup - eyeshadows and face powder, selection of brushes and sponges, black thread, clingfilm, tissues. I also save bubblewrap in various sizes as you can embed these in your creation as blisters. From that you can make some pretty real looking stuff quickly and easily.
There are some fancy moulage kits out there - the Ben Nye one being used by the pros, but you can get started with some really basic ingredients.
Good luck - it's great fun.
