Does anyone have any links to published work on how far to take scenarios?
I know at the last ASPiH/SCSN symposium, one of the women talked about the ethics of letting the simulator die, and about debriefing and the trauma faced by students afterwards, Can anyone remember her name - I'm sure she was Irish, and maybe something to do with midwifery.
Any other links would be appreciated.

first one i found on google, not research more discussion www.nhslocal.nhs.uk/story/should-medical-students-see-dummy-patient-diemy take would be that scenarios are built around learning objectives so the purpose of the scenario would have to be death and dealing with the aftermath. Just allowing the patient to die could be very traumatising for the learners and the debriefer, with perhaps the rest of the day needed to deal with it, and then all the other learning is lost.
