anyone have thoughts on the IV access/fluids module?
we've been trialing it for past couple of months to give comparison to the cannulation arm that we previously used. Have to say that actually working on the patient has it's benefits but the modules themselves are not as robust as we'd hoped. the life expectency is variable from one days training to 3 or 4 and leaks are commonplace. Any thoughts/ideas on repairing leaks? not only to the surface but to the sides as well, we've had a couple split. there also appears to be an issue wih the connectors leaking, which is leaving me feeling pretty disappointed and a little fed up drying out the inside of the arm!

Good Afternoon, Manged to fix the leaking arm problem and prolong the life of the IV PADS on Sim Man Essential. Leak Solution = plumbers white PTFE tape, cut 6 small pieces and wrap around the male plastic nipples on the hard plastic pad on the arm, before attaching IV Insert, you get a much better seal as the surfaces are similar as opposed to hard plastic and soft silicone. Prolong the IV pad = Copydex from hobycraft or DIY store small tub about £4, seems to last for ever - paints on white and dries translucent, dries in about 10 mins. Forgive me if I'm preaching to the converted so if you already have a solution would be good to here about it or let me know if my suggestion worked for you. Answers on a postcard - or you could post a reply here instead thanks FVRHSIMSOLO Attachments:
