so we're looking to have the major haemorrhage from SimMom be about 1.5-2l of blood rather than the 600ml(?) that is currently doable, anyone done this or got some ideas?

we ran a MH scenario using 3g for similar kind of thing ran two 500 ml bags thru a hidden tube worked quite well, we started it slowly trickling out the tube then got the stooge to open it up fully when required

so does that mean you need the confederate to turn it off again to stop the bleeding?
we're hoping to run a 1l or 2l bag through the current system, but i do like your idea too, might give that a go. we did something similar with SimMan before we had SimMom, sadly it made a huge mess too, blood run up the back of torso skin !!

ideally as the scenario starts there will be trickling of blood already an as it progresses the confederate would then open it up more too allow full flow, down side is the mess but if you angle the tubing and bed correctly plus pad underneath properly mess on manikin is minimal

cheers ender, we're going to run with your idea, using a 3 litre bag running through a blood giving set which is inserted under the housing for the uterus. this gives us both the volume and the rate that had the faculty pretty excited (if that's the right word?) when we tested it yesterday, anyway, cheers for your suggestion

yeah, i'm actually quite keen to film it, or maybe keep some footage as it's potentially maybe a presentation piece re major PPH with SimMom

just ran the PPH scenario, after a minor hiccup during set-up which rerquired a bed change, please note the irrigation bag needs an irrigation giving set!! the scenario went really well and boy did she have a major PPH, clots were added to vagina which was a great wee touch, cheers simsolo, the patient lost around 2.5 litres in around 12-15 minutes
think we'll run it again on a quiet day and keep the film footage

running this scenario again on Mon 12th to get photos for the presentation to SESAM in Poznan, might take some video too as the sound of blood haemorrhaging really added to the scenario.
