How did you get on with writing about the SimTech day Scott? How was the feedback?
As I said, we'd love to have opportunity to host it maybe later on this year, making it at least an annual event...then pass on the SimTech torch and all that!
It would be great if the host passed on feedback to the new host, then they built on it, passed on to a new host with new feedback etc etc. By the time it got back to FVRH it will be a week long event :-)

Gayle, are you telling me you haven't read my blog post on the ScotSimCentre blog, thats like a knife through the heart.
was done in December and feedback was collated and sent out to all the presenters as well, i.e. Kevin got all Kevins feedback, Nick got all Nicks feedback etc
if i can i'll post a link here and if theres more info you'd want i'm happy to share as well as happy to share my experience, whilst taking a backseat to your organising

i know it's a little on the early side but does has anyone else put further thought into this years SimTechDay? i.e venue, topics, who's hosting. might be an idea to start thinking about it, identify who's doing it, where and then discuss on here what we'd all like from it or does someone want to just go for it themselves?

We are definitely up for hosting. I'd need to confirm everything and maybe get some potential dates. ideas? How about I take advantage of being in a university and see if I can get someone from academic support to do a basic intro to abstracts. How to construct them, things to include etc...?
If we put the call out now, would anyone like to present something? Would give us all a chance to try it without pressure and just in front of our fellow techs?

so with the academic year coming to a close this would be a good time to push on with plans for SimTechDay2, "(asthma) attack of the clones" !! I've got one maybe 2 ideas for presentations could even add them to 2 of the 3 i've just presented at SESAM to give me a 30/45 min slot and Andy has at least one piece and probably more that could supplement that or be done seperately. anyway i guess the main thing is we decide whos hosting, whos running/coordinating get some definite foundations down and lets get the ball rolling before it's too late or rushed?

Hi Scott. That's me back at work after a prolonged sick period. I've had a wee word with my line manager and he asked if you'd like to come out for a visit and have a chat about us hosting. He'd appreciate your input and experience, and you can have a good nosey I'm in next week, then off til 28th July so if you're up for it, drop me a wee line. Gayle

When is a god time for people. End of November? First week in December? Either of them suit?
What do people want to see? What do you want to find out about? Being a university, we have access to academic advisors etc, but we'll need ideas for more technical stuff too. I'm keen on seeing Scott's presentations, as I missed them at ASPiH. I'd be happy to present our mass simulation from the technician's point of view. Do we want hands on stuff? If so, what?

yeah i like the innovations/solutions stuff (obviously) being a good confederate? using pre programmed trends and handlers, adding usable audio/media files to simman/junior etc maybe a piece on submitting abstracts and presenting

Great - I'll pop it in the diary. I'm in a meeting 10-11, hopefully it will be finished on time or early (fingers crossed). I'll get your details to the gatehouse and they'll let me know if there is space available.
